We hear a lot about mindfulness lately, but what exactly is it and how does it apply in everyday life? This interactive session will leave the audience with an understanding of the background and science and have a good platform from which to begin a personal mindfulness practice. We’ll explore various practice styles including the body scan and focus point, insight meditation.

The session will include lecture, evidence-based examples, experiential practice time and an opportunity for discussion and questions. Participants will walk away with:

  • An understanding of the basics of mindfulness practice
  • The background and science of mindfulness
  • Examples of mindfulness applied at work and in life
  • Experience with several styles of mindfulness practices
  • Take-away tools and tips for beginning a personal mindfulness practice
